Coinbase is founded in 2012 by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam and is based in San Francisco, California. It is one of the largest broker in the world. The reason for adding Coinbase as a broker has to do with the possibility to trade Euro (€) vs. crypto and vice versa, like Dutch brokers. And, they support partially the Dutch language.
However, it is not possible to pay with iDEAL. SEPA bank transfers make it possible to deposit money and buy crypto. In addition to the platform as a broker, it is also possible to trade crypto vs. crypto as an exchange.
Coinbase offers an app for a mobile wallet and a web wallet, both of which are synchronized with each other. By having two wallets and exchanging crypto under the same roof, users can easily send crypto between the two platforms. Purchases are placed directly in the wallet and can be sent to a wallet outside Coinbase.
It is mandatory to be fully verified. Personal details such as name, place of residence, IBAN and copy of identity must be known before any transaction can take place.
