Bitcoin “flash crash” and Best Deal provider of April

Hi CoinCompanion, the bulls don’t know when to stop, despite bitcoin’sBitcoin BTC orange symbol CoinCompare “flash crash” on April 18. The king of coins dropped almost 10% within a few hours. Regardless, the ‘all time highs’ keep flying around. “You an ATH, you an ATH and you an ATH, everybody ATH” – as Oprah might say. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), Dogecoin (DOGE) and many others set new ‘all time highs’ in April. It is almost becoming normal, but realize that it can also turn around in a split second. Therefore, inform yourself well and don’t be fooled by people who are just hyping and shilling their profits (or anyone else’s).

DNB registration crypto providers update

After Knaken was registered at the DNB on March 3, BUX Crypto turn has come in April. Bitdenex’s registration is still ongoing. The exchange is allowed to continue its operations as long as they continue to work towards a completed registration. How long the provider has is not clear.
A notable registration from the list on the DNB’s site, is Bitstamp. As of April 28, 2021, Bitstamp is also included in the DNB’s register. The registration is probably mandatory because Bitstamp has an office in neighboring Luxembourg and also operates in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, the ‘know your customer’ (KYC) policy based on the European Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD5) and the Dutch Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act (Wwft) have been formulated and landed in crypto Netherlands. Almost all known providers were successfully registered in the DNB register before or on 21st of November. Below the list of providers registered to date:

Best Deal provider of the month

Throughout the month, 13 providers with 174 price comparable crypto’s and 348 buying and selling prices have been monitored to conclude who is going home with the gold medal. Here are the Best Deal providers of the month April:

Bitladon! In terms of listings and delistings, April was quiet at the broker in Aalsmeer with only 1 new crypto, 1 deleted and 1 rebrand. Outside of the trading platform, Bitladon successfully completed the giveaway ‘Het Wachtwoord‘ (NL) (The Password) together with radio station SLAM! on April 29. The winner of the promotion won 1 whole bitcoin and indicated that she will ‘HODL‘ it for now. Wise choice. Compared to March, Bitladon seems to be back around the same number of hits in April as in February. In February they had 84 hits, March 45 and April 83 with a 23.85% share. With that number, they are safely in spot 3 compared to spot 4, for now.

Read our extensive review about Bitladon here, to find out all the ins and outs of the broker from Aalsmeer.

Bitvavo! After Bitvavo expanded its portfolio significantly in February, it has now been quiet for a while in terms of listings. Because of those new crypto’s in February, Bitvavo managed to be named Best Deal provider on CoinCompare in March. But, that didn’t last long, as Bitvavo dropped quite a few hits in April. In March, they had registered 163 hits and in April, 95 with a 27.29% share. The difference, 68 hits, which meant they had to relinquish spot 1 again. Can they win it back in May?

Coinmerce! Back on the well known #1 spot. But how? In March they had 117 registered hits and in April 124 with a share of 35.63%. Not a big difference, but enough to reclaim spot 1. After we declared Bitvavo as Best Deal provider for March, it seems that around the same time Coinmerce changed its transaction fees. After asking, the response was that they have lowered their transaction fees. Remarkable enough, that “reduction” has caused the purchase prices at Coinmerce to increase significantly. They now are one of the most expensive on our platform. But, due to the “reduction”, they have now the best selling price for almost all crypto’s. Due to the changes, the difference is now so huge that arbitrage has occurred. This is probably incorrect. We assume that the source, where we get the data from Coinmerce, is incorrect and we hope for a quick and correct solution.

Broker of the month at CoinCompare

The best deal provider of the month is determined independently with the average of cumulating snapshots of buy and sell prices of all the best deals that are shown on our comparison page. Logically, the larger the variety of crypto offered, the most chance of becoming the winner. Yet, in the end it is still the price of the crypto that matters as it has to be comparable and shown as best deal. Discounts in Tiers and VIP levels are not included in the calculation. As deals change several times a day, due to the volatility of prices, the provider with the best deal can therefore change as well. Due to that fluctuation we take two snapshots per day to determine the best deal provider, with the most hits on our price comparison page, for that day.
