CoinCompanions, May the halving be with you (pun intended)! The most discussed moments in the cryptosphere is already history: the halving of the blockreward (from 12.5 to 6.25) for bitcoin-miners. The halving will take place every four years until around 2140 the last bitcoin is mined. This means that twice as little bitcoin shall be on the market, making it scarcer. The inflation rate has now reached that of gold, about 2 percent a year according to co-founder Electric Capital. The halving did not cause any high gains. But, maybe those are still yet to come as bitcoin rises a little later after the halving. Time will tell.

Here are the best deal providers of the month May. Although some providers quit we still used all the collected data over May. Therefor, 16 providers with 185 comparable crypto’s and 370 prices are monitored to come to the following result:
Bitqist! We at CoinCompare enjoyed their presents in the cryptosphere. We saw two ambitious cryptolovers trying to compete with the settled providers in the Netherlands. They had a good platform, good vision and will, extensive range in crypto and their prices were relatively cheap. The only problem was that they were a little bit late with Bitqist which made it difficult to compete, but they had a chance if the law did not interfere! Thank you for the provided service Derk and Christian . Their last entries in May were 72 with a 19.35% share. In compare to April, where they had to share Bitvavo, the entries declined with 2.69%. Still, with a decline they ended their operations with bronze.
Bitvavo! The silent one. Still not a lot of social media, newsletters and listing activity. But wait, that doesn’t mean that they are doing nothing. Probably working on functional features and exchange recognition. Anyway, as said before still one of the cheapest providers on CoinCompare for the crypto that they offer. With a small gain of 1.34% in May having 87 entries and a share of 23.38% they are again the number two on our comparison platform. We have a feeling that they will stay there for a long time.
Coinmerce! As mentioned in our Buzz of April why not switch crypto providers, as you do with your energy and insurances? And did you? Depending on your trading amount and which provider you now use, you can save hundreds of euro’s. Coinmerce is the only provider on CoinCompare that always ensures the availability of the newest crypto and refreshes their portfolio on a monthly base. With a small decline in entries of 3.77% Coinmerce keeps the gold platter in Amstelveen . 121 entries were logged with a total share of 32.52% in May. Congratulations.
The best deal provider of the month is determined independently with the average of cumulating snapshots of buy and sell prices of all the best deals that are shown on our homepage. Logically, the larger the variety of crypto offered, the most chance of becoming the winner. In the end it is still the price of the crypto that matters as it has to be comparable. Discounts in Tiers and VIP levels are not included in the calculation. As deals change several times a day, due to the volatility of prices, the provider with the best deal can therefore change as well. Due to that fluctuation we take two snapshots per day to the determine the provider for that day with the most entries on our price comparison page.
