Both in front of and behind the scenes, we have spent a lot of time updating content over the past month. In July, we set up info pages for Shiba Inu (SHIBA) token and for Internet Computer (ICP) coin. In August we set up an info page for Audius (AUDIO) and updated the info page for Cardano (ADA).
Audius is a decentralized ‘Soundcloud’ competitor. Artists and producers are rewarded by uploading their music for all users of the music streaming platform. Instead of being paid in fiat money like the euro or dollar, the artists and producers are paid in AUDIO. $AUDIO is the token that operates in the ecosystem of the streaming platform. Cardano is an Ethereum competitor, but with two layers on the blockchain operating parallel from each other. With Ethereum, those layers are intertwined which causes congestion. Cardano’s blockchain, or also called parachain, is faster and cheaper to use than Ethereum. The coin that operates on the parachain is called ADA. After the soccer news from July, there is nothing to report about Knaken in August except that they have added the crypto Serum (SRM). In July, Knaken had to relinquish spot 4 to Binance, which moved them to spot 5. Nothing changed in August due to a drop 0.70%.

Binance won’t apply updates to the European market for now, as governments are still working to get Binance under their control. No new euro pairs for new crypto, the Dutch language has not yet been put back and know-your-customer (KYC) policy became mandatory in August. So if you want to create an account at Binance today you are required to reveal your identity to the crypto exchange. If you are against centralization it is understandable that you would look for other crypto exchanges like KuCoin. However, all providers on CoinCompare have a mandatory KYC procedure. That Binance also has to apply it is no surprise in order to continue operating in the European market. Despite the regulation and a drop in hits of 3.17%, Binance remains in spot 4.

In July, Bitladon announced that they had entered into an exclusive partnership with Eredivisie soccer club AZ. In August, little news was reported from the broker from Aalsmeer, except that they listed the coin Serum (SRM) to their portfolio. Bitladon unfortunately has to take a step back to spot 3 due to a decline of 4.14% in hits. The decline is mainly due to the fact that Bitvavo has expanded its portfolio significantly and is now competing with Bitladon.

In July, Coinmerce came out with the launch of its new app! Users were excited because an update was needed. Unfortunately, one complaint after another came in that users couldn’t log in, error messages were displayed and the app was slow. In the meantime, the app has received a few updates and the problems seem to be slowly being resolved. Despite a 0.17% drop, Coinmerce is back in spot 2. It seems that Coinmerce will have to settle for that, as Bitvavo has expanded its portfolio significantly and is now competing with Coinmerce by offering cheaper prices.

Out of 356 comparable buy and sell prices, Bitvavo has almost 50% of the crypto the best prices! That’s a record in CoinCompare’s history since we’ve been monitoring prices from all providers. Reaching that 50% has to do with Bitvavo finally giving in to its users’ requests to start adding crypto. In August, they started with 86 coins and ended the month with 121 coins! A whopping 35 new coins were added. At the end of August, we published an article about all crypto developments at Bitvavo so far. By enriching the portfolio, Bitvavo has settled itself to the #1 spot, crowning itself the #1 best deal provider of August by an increase of 8.96% in hits.

The best deal provider of the month is determined independently with the average of cumulating snapshots of buy and sell prices of all the best deals that are shown on our comparison page. Logically, the larger the variety of crypto offered, the most chance of becoming the winner. Yet, in the end it is still the price of the crypto that matters as it has to be comparable and shown as best deal. Discounts in Tiers and VIP levels are not included in the calculation. As deals change several times a day, due to the volatility of prices, the provider with the best deal can therefore change as well. Due to that fluctuation we take two snapshots per day to determine the best deal provider, with the most hits on our price comparison page, for that day.
