Will Bitvavo add new coins? That much is certain. But the question is always, when? The Amsterdam-based exchange got off to a good start in January by adding eight new coins. And it certainly didn’t stop there! The offering is regularly renewed and we are not talking about one or two new crypto. It is more common for the Dutch crypto exchange to enrich its offerings with dozens of new coins in a month. In the months that followed, they continued to cheerfully enriching their offerings. The total counter now stands at 279 different coins and tokens. From the Netherlands, Bitvavo has only Coinmerce ahead of them based on numbers. In fact, the semi-exchange Coinmerce offers more than 360 different types of crypto. Does the Amsterdam exchange have the ambition to become the largest in the Netherlands on numbers as well? The difference is more than 80 crypto, so there is little chance that Bitvavo will overtake Coinmerce in 2024. Or will it?
It is worth waiting for Bitvavo to add new coins. The exchange’s criteria for adding new coins is based on customer demand, market hype and trend, and thorough research into malicious project characteristics. Bitvavo expects to add around 100 new coins this year in order to stay ahead of the competition and satisfy its customers. At the time of writing, the Dutch exchange has already added 76 new crypto coins to its trading platform. At CoinCompare we love overview, which is why you’ll find all recent listings at the Dutch exchange below. You should know that they are fully committed to ensuring that you, as a prospective or current trader on the platform, are satisfied. As they have previously stated:
“Adding new digital currencies is one of the most popular requests we get from our customers”
A few listings ago we wrote that Bitvavo was about to overtake the great Coinbase in terms of numbers. Now zeven listings later, including Galxe (GAL), the time has come for the Dutch exchange to finally overtake the big American exchange. With ether.fi (ETHFI), Wormhole (W), Hashflow (HFT), Hooked Protocol (HOOK), Hifi Finance (HIFI) and Flux (FLUX) as new crypto coins, the number of coins that can be traded on the exchange is now 251! Are they done adding new coins, for now?
Galxe, formerly Project Galaxy, is the world’s leading data network for Web3 credentials. A data collaboration infrastructure that allows brands and developers to engage communities and build robust products in Web3. Galxe, like many others, runs on the Ethereum blockchain and is as of now tradable as Bitvavo’s new coin.
42! That is the number of crypto coins and tokens listed on Bitvavo’s trading platform since January. At the time of writing, there are 243 different crypto tokens to trade at the Dutch exchange. Coinbase currently counts 244. It is unique that a Dutch crypto exchange has almost more to offer than the big US giant. As a broker, that number is easier to achieve, because you simply use the exchanges’ order books. Bitvavo uses its own order book system. Are Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Flare (FLR), Big Time (BIGTIME) and MANTRA (OM) the last new crypto on the exchange for now?
Meet the new memecoin available on Bitvavo, BOOK OF MEME: an experimental project that aims to redefine web3 culture by merging memes and decentralised storage solutions. The memecoin runs on Solana as an initiative to promote a new dimension of decentralised social media where memes are unstoppable. Besides the addition of BOOK OF MEME (BOME), also Metis (METIS) and NFPrompt (NFP) are now available on Netherlands’ largest trading platform. A couple days later the exchange also announced the addition of Beam (BEAM) to the platform.
Not only is it raining outside in the Netherlands, it’s also raining new crypto at Bitvavo. You would think that Netherland’s largest crypto exchange would be exhausted by now with all the additions, but nothing could be further from the truth. Again new offerings, again new crypto. Of all the providers on CoinCompare, Bitvavo only has Coinmerce and Coinbase ahead of it in terms of offerings. It is not inconceivable that Bitvavo will overtake Coinbase in the near future. With Ronin (RON), Pendle (PENDLE), Bounce (AUCTION) and Nervos Network (CKB) they already have started to get things moving.
If you are not yet on the Bitvavo trading platform, you may have missed the news that they have added six new crypto. In fact, the latest additions were only announced via notifications in your account or via social media. Via X (formerly Twitter), the Dutch exchange announced that Kadena (KDA), Osmosis (OSMO) and Fusionist (ACE) are now tradable. Kadena and Osmosis have been on the market for a while, while Fusionist – a gaming token – was launched at the end of December 2023.
In addition to the three already mentioned, the popular Aevo (AEVO), Pixels (PIXEL) and dogwifhat (WIF) have also been added to the wide range of offerings. The latest hyped memecoin, Dogwifhat, which runs on Solana, has been eagerly awaited by many users. You want to get it as soon as possible before the price goes to the moon!
Without any blog or social media announcement, the Netherlands’ largest exchange came with the message, which could only be seen in your account, that they had added a new crypto token. The new crypto is Portal with the token $PORTAL. Portal is a gaming platform that aims to bring the first billion gamers into the Web3 world, paired with a universal gaming token. The crypto token was launched recently and is similar to that of Gala, which is also a gaming coin.
A crypto much requested by users is StarkNet with its $STRK token. The requests of the users of the Dutch exchange could not be ignored and thus, on 20 February, the StarkNet Token (STRK) became the new crypto on Bitvavo. And that a day later when four new crypto had already been added at Bitvavo. StarkNet is a permissionless decentralised layer-2 (L2) validity rollup designed to scale Ethereum via cryptographic protocols called STARKs, without compromising Ethereum’s core principles of decentralisation, transparency, inclusivity and security. The StarkNet token is needed to manage, maintain and secure the ecosystem, decide on its values and strategic goals, and guide its evolution.
Bitvavo is constantly adding new listings. One new crypto coin after another is added to the already rich offering of the Dutch crypto exchange. On the 19th of February, no less than four new crypto were added. CyberNetwork (CYBER), Adventure Gold (AGLD), Mina (MINA) and the not unexpected Pyth Network (PYTH) can now be traded at the lowest prices.
“Here we go!” Bitvavo came out with the news on Feb. 12 that they were going to add yet another set of new coins. This time there are five, including Ondo (ONDO), Astar (ASTR), ssv.network (SSV), Bluzelle (BLZ) and the newly launched coin Dymension (DYM). These new crypto are frequently requested to be added to the already rich offerings Bitvavo has to offer.

More new crypto on Bitvavo! On the 5th of February, the Amsterdam-based exchange announced the addition of four new coins to its trading platform, including Memecoin (MEME). MEME is the most requested of the four new additions. The decision to add these crypto coins and tokens comes at the request of the Bitvavo community. Keep in mind that some projects, such as ZETA and XAI, are relatively new and may have higher price volatility. Trade them with caution!
Memecoin (MEME), that runs on Ethereum, is Memeland’s own ecosystem token. Memeland is the web3 venture studio of 9GAG, the world’s most popular meme platform. The total supply of MEME is set at 69 billion.
ZetaChain is a new Layer-1 with built-in chain-agnostic interoperability (EVM-compatible, Cosmos/IBC, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Tron, etc.). It will also support native smart contracts, allowing developers to build omnichain dApps that orchestrate funds across chains from a single contract.
Axelar is a programmable blockchain interoperability layer that spans all of Web3 since 2022. This means that application users can interact with any asset, any application, on any chain with a single click. Think of it as Stripe (payment service) for Web3.
Xai is designed to enable real economies and open commerce in the next generation of video games. With Xai, potentially billions of traditional gamers will be able to own and trade valuable in-game items in their favourite games for the first time, without having to use crypto wallets.
Monday, January 29, 2024, four new crypto were announced. Among these four is the popular coin AltLAyer (ALT) which comes from the quiver of BinanceLabs. AltLayer is a decentralized protocol that facilitates the launch of native and restaked rollups with both optimistic and zk rollup stacks.
The new Solana hype coin Jupiter (JUP) is also one of the new coins at Bitvavo. JUP is a Solana-based governance token that allows community members to approve, sanction and vote on all aspects of the Jupiter platform. Jupiter is one of the largest DeFi protocols on Solana, handling $3.7 billion in transaction volume in November 2023 alone.
Next to these new additions were Raydium (RAY) and Kava (KAVA), those have also been added to the coin collection. Raydium with its token $RAY is an automated market maker (AMM) and liquidity provider, built on the Solana blockchain, for the Serum decentralized exchange (DEX).
Kava, on the other hand, is a Layer 1 blockchain that combines the speed and interoperability of Cosmos with the development power of Ethereum. On the day of the announcement, it was also possible to buy and sell all four coins. Wondering if Bitvavo offers the best price? Then check out our prices comparison page.
So after each “New Listings” announcement, the question is which new coins Bitvavo adds. Then, on Jan. 22, 2024, there was the announcement. No less than four new crypto were added to the trading platform, including the immensely popular Solana memecoin Bonk (BONK). In addition to Bonk, altcoins Ordi (ORDI), Manta Network (MANTA) en Jito (JTO) were also added. Competitors such as Coinmerce and Coinbase already have some of these crypto in their portfolios and are competing on price.
When we checked the comments on one of the X posts, many followers wish the following new coins: XDC Network (XDC), LCX (LCX), Verasity (VRA), Metis (METIS) and many others. After all, there are so many different crypto that it is impossible to add them all.
In any case, which and when Bitvavo will add new coins always remains to be seen. It is to be expected that they think the Bitvavo community will be sweet for a while. But is that true? The answer, no, if we are to believe the reactions in the posts on their social media. In the past, we have more often listed what crypto to expect on the trading platform, but the exchange continues to surprise us with unexpected listings.
When we checked which popular crypto the competitors offer and which are currently trending, we do have a strong suspicion which coins will be added in 2024. But we could be wrong. As mentioned above, we expect them to add at least 50 new coins this year. With only one to go, the Dutch exchange will most likely reach the expected number. If they add more, the following new crypto coins could be launched on Bitvavo:

It’s good to know that Bitvavo has the cheapest prices on Dutch soil. It was not for nothing that we declared them Best Deal Provider 2021. Bitvavo also has the best prices for the new coins, which means you can get the best deal at them, if you are currently trading the new crypto elsewhere. You can directly compare the prices of the new coins on our price comparison page.
Despite the joy due of the new addition of the new coins, the exchange is unfortunately known for not or sometimes late supporting deposits and withdrawal for the new coins. This is mainly because the hosted wallets managed need to be synchronized with the blockchain of the crypto in question. The bulk of new crypto are mainly ERC-20 tokens running on Ethereum, which often suffers from congestion. Also, Coinbase Custody must support the crypto in question and Bitvavo must apply for its insurance. After all, you want your crypto in your wallet to be insured, right? Therefore, keep in mind that also for these new coins it will not be possible (for now) to deposit or withdraw them. When it will be supported the trading platform will inform you in time.
Which (new) crypto coins you can and cannot deposit and withdraw can be found on our Bitvavo wallet page.
Unfortunately, staking the new coins is also expected to be delayed. After all, staking is possible if the wallet is supported. Is there no support for depositing and withdrawing via the wallet in your account? Then there is a good chance that staking is not possible. When it will be supported is unclear. Bitvavo will make it clear through its channels when staking will be possible for the new additions.
